This is getting scary now—more so than last night, as both flare-ups today are on our side of the ridge. The in-town fire, the pics taken from my back patio that show fire and smoke in a populated area (previous post), is apparently dying out. However, a ring of small, scattered fires have formed a ring coming down from the hills that we can see from the front yard. In the winter, with snow on the peaks, it’s almost as if you can reach out and touch those mountains. It seems even closer when you feel you can reach out and burn your fingers.
Here are the latest pics. The batteries are losing juice, so I apologize for the blurry or pixelated nature of some or most of these current images. Still, whatever you see as yellow or orange dots and smears—that’s the trouble! Needless to say, we are ready to go—still.
